Steno transcribes your clips and turns them into captions without leaving Final Cut Pro.

Transcription runs on your Mac. Nothing is uploaded. Whisper and Parakeet models, 65+ languages, with translation to English.

It transcribes the audio Final Cut actually plays. Your compressor, EQ, and volume are applied first, and compound clips are handled the same way.

Edit before you export. Fix the text, set line breaks, and every word keeps its timing.

Export as animatable Title captions with Motion templates, native FCP Subtitles, or standard iTT, SRT, and CEA-608. Drag, paste, or import them onto the timeline.

Optional AI cleanup. Translate, reformat, or strip filler using your own Claude or OpenAI key.

Requirements: macOS 15+, Final Cut Pro. Apple Silicon recommended.
